Job summary

CNA Insurance is seeking an experienced claims professional to manage complex commercial claims with large exposures. You will verify coverage, assess reserves, and coordinate with stakeholders to settle and pay claims within authority limits.

The role requires strong negotiation, analytical skills, and knowledge of commercial policy language. A valid Adjuster license within 90 days of hire is expected, with CPCU or similar designations preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Typically a minimum six years of relevant experience, preferably in claim handling.
• Must have or be able to obtain and maintain an Insurance Adjuster License within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Manages an inventory of highly complex commercial claims with large exposures following company protocols.
• Ensures exceptional customer service by managing the claim and coordinating with insureds and partners.
• Verifies coverage and establishes reserves by interpreting policy language and consulting with coverage counsel on complex matters.
• Leads focused investigations to determine compensability and damages with collected information and experts as needed.
• Resolves claims by collaborating to develop and execute a claim resolution strategy and authorizing payments within authority.
• Establishes and manages claim budgets and resources for timely resolutions.
• Addresses subrogation/salvage opportunities or potential fraud with referrals to appropriate resources.
• Maintains quality standards by following company protocols and ensuring timely payment of claims.
• Keeps leadership informed by preparing succinct case summaries for senior management.
• Stays current on state/local regulatory requirements governing commercial insurance.
• Mentors and trains less experienced Claim Professionals.
