Job summary

Sun Life U.S. is seeking a Director of Infrastructure and Cloud Hosting to lead a skilled team delivering scalable IT infrastructure and cloud services. You will guide architecture alignment, policy compliance, and enterprise-wide support for Azure, AWS, O365, and on-prem components.

The role emphasizes setting a clear team vision, managing budgets, and driving performance metrics while collaborating with business and IT teams to meet growing organizational needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree strongly preferred in Information Technology or equivalent work experience.
• An advanced degree in Information Systems, Business, Planning, or a related field is a plus.
• 10 years leadership experience of a multi-site enterprise infrastructure organization.
• Direct supervision and staff development experience.
• Experience managing outsourced service and service providers.
• Foundational Cloud Certification

Responsibilities

• Ensures development and delivery of all products and services within the Sunlife DentaQuest Infrastructure and Cloud hosting vertical.
• Ensures service delivery for all key areas of the infrastructure (O365, Active Directory/LDAP, Wintel Servers, Linux Servers, Azure hosting, AWS hosting, Virtualization and physical hardware, Data storage as well as data backups, Virtual desktop (VDI) and desktop engineering).
• Assure Disaster Recovery is in place and tested as required for critical business services
• Takes a leadership role in setting team vision and direction, ensures standards and policies are maintained, and systems and solutions are well documented, inventoried, and compliant with technical and operational standards, policies, and procedures.
• Develops benchmark measures (KPI's, technical measurements, Performance targets and SLA's) to evaluate productivity within both the team and technology.
• Manages division-level technical implementation projects.
• License and contract management for Infrastructure and supporting teams
• Develops support plans and implementation strategies to meet the IT needs of the enterprise end-users.
• Lead financial management activities, including the creation and maintenance of the technical services budget - both operational and capital.
• Leads personnel management activities, including performance management and career development activities.

Education
