As we expand globally, we are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Business Development Lead to drive our commercial growth in the United States.

Position Overview

As the Business Development Lead for the US Market, you will play a critical role in building Shuimu’s presence across North America. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, cultivating strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth across biotech and pharmaceutical sectors.

This is a high-impact role ideal for a candidate who combines deep knowledge of drug discovery and structural biology with strong commercial acumen.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute business development strategies to grow Shuimu’s footprint in the US market.
• Identify and engage with prospective clients in biotech, pharma, and academic sectors.
• Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through outbound efforts, partnerships, and industry networking.
• Understand client R&D needs and align Shuimu’s cryo-EM services and capabilities accordingly.
• Lead deal negotiations, proposals, and contract closures in collaboration with legal and scientific teams.
• Represent Shuimu at key industry conferences, roadshows, and networking events.
• Collaborate with internal R&D, marketing, and executive teams to align commercial goals with scientific priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences; PhD in structure biology strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong understanding of structural biology, drug discovery, and CRO business models.
• Proven track record of driving revenue growth and building long-term client relationships.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to thrive in a startup or fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel as needed across the US.
