Job summary

Morgan Stanley is seeking an AI Developer to design, build, and support practical AI-enabled solutions across enterprise technology use cases. You will work with Engineering, Data, Platform, Security and Business teams to deliver maintainable, scalable AI applications.

The role emphasizes GenAI development, Python services, APIs, data pipelines and responsible AI governance within a Cyber Security Operations context at Director level.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or related field.
• Experience in software development, preferably with Python and one or more additional languages.
• Understanding of SDLC processes, source control, automated testing and code review standards.
• Working knowledge of Large Language Models, Generative AI concepts, prompt engineering and AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience building or integrating APIs, backend services, data pipelines or enterprise applications.
• Awareness of retrieval augmented generation, vector search, agentic AI patterns or AI orchestration frameworks is an advantage.
• Understanding of secure development, data handling, privacy, risk and governance considerations for enterprise AI solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and support AI-powered applications, agents and workflow automations using approved Firm platforms and services.
• Build Generative AI solutions using LLMs, prompt design, retrieval-based patterns and enterprise data sources.
• Develop Python services, APIs, integrations and reusable components to support AI use cases.
• Participate in the full Software Delivery Lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, deployment, documentation and support.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Technology, data, security, platform and business teams to understand requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Evaluate AI outputs and contribute to improvements in quality, reliability, usability and operational performance.
• Support secure engineering practices, governance reviews, monitoring, risk controls and operational readiness for AI-enabled applications.
• Identify opportunities to use AI responsibly to simplify processes, automate repeatable activity and improve developer or user productivity.
