Job summary

Morgan Stanley's Parametric team seeks a Principal Software Engineer, AI Platform, to lead AI engineering across the GenAI platform and translate business problems into scalable AI solutions. You will guide developers through the full lifecycle—from design to deployment—while applying deep ML/NLP knowledge to build robust platform-level components.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field of study; Master's degree preferred.
10+ years of hands-on object-oriented design and development experience.
3+ years of hands-on Python software design and development.
3+ years of experience managing software development teams and providing direct guidance, mentorship, project leadership, and team development.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both business users and technical audiences.
Experience translating business problems into technical requirements and data readiness.

Provide technical leadership by directly managing a team of engineers, mentoring them to achieve their potential, and advancing team goals.
Drive vision and strategy for the team with strong leadership, ownership, and project management.
Lead GenAI development projects across the full lifecycle from requirements to deployment and support.
Collaborate with business users and engineers to scope solutions and communicate trade-offs clearly.
Design, develop, and maintain platform-level GenAI solutions, governance, and APIs.
Develop GenAI applications with prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, fine-tuning, and agentic workflows.
