Job summary

HP is seeking a Director of Agentic AI Development to lead the engineering organization delivering scalable AI experiences across HP PCs and edge devices. You will own roadmap execution, cross-functional coordination, quality and release management, and risk mitigation in a global, production-focused environment.

Role requires deep leadership, 15+ years in software/AI, and proven experience shipping AI-enabled devices.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in software or AI engineering, with at least 7 years of leadership and experience managing managers across multiple teams.
• Shipped AI-enabled PCs, connected devices, or embedded products with device integration and release quality.
• Practical depth in agentic or generative AI, including tool calling, context handling, and local or hybrid inference.
• Experience integrating native apps/services with OS and device interfaces, and diagnosing performance/reliability across software/hardware boundaries.
• Experience with automated integration, hardware-based validation, staged releases, rollback, and field telemetry; balance latency, memory, power, and privacy.
• Strong global people and delivery leadership, technical judgment, and executive communication; degree in CS/EE or related field.

Responsibilities

• Translate PO priorities into executable engineering plans; lead squads from prototype to production increments.
• Build context-aware workflows, tool integrations, planning and execution logic; support bounded actions and recovery.
• Integrate features with Foundation APIs, OS services, and device management across variants.
• Establish scenario-based evaluations and automated tests; measure latency, memory, battery impact, security.
• Own release readiness, rollout sequencing, rollback plans, and field issue resolution.
• Drive agile execution with a shared backlog; surface risks and demonstrate adoption evidence.
• Hire and grow engineering leaders; oversee staffing and executive risk escalation.
