Job summary

Travere Therapeutics seeks an experienced Director, Nephrology Research to identify emerging science in rare kidney diseases and lead collaborations translating ideas into therapeutic programs. The role requires renal biology expertise and ability to drive programs from concept through IND readiness.

The candidate will manage cross-functional teams, oversee external labs and CROs, and shape translational strategies with biomarkers and patient selection in a highly externalized research model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Life Science or related discipline required.
• PhD, MD, PharmD, or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years in biopharmaceutical industry or 6+ years with advanced degree.
• Experience in kidney biology, nephrology drug discovery, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute Travere's research strategy for rare kidney diseases.
• Lead nephrology research programs from concept to IND readiness.
• Develop translational strategies linking mechanism of action to potential clinical outcomes.
• Collaborate with internal and external experts to advance therapeutic modalities (small molecules, biologics, oligonucleotides).
• Represent Travere in scientific meetings and external collaborations.
