Job summary

Travere Therapeutics is seeking an experienced Director of Nephrology Research to join our Research and Nonclinical Development team. You will identify emerging science in rare kidney diseases and lead innovative collaborations to translate discoveries into therapeutic programs.

The role requires deep renal biology expertise, a track record in drug discovery and cross‑functional leadership to drive candidate selection, preclinical development, and IND readiness, including external partnerships

Qualifications

10+ years of biopharmaceutical industry experience.
Deep expertise in kidney biology and nephrology drug discovery.
Translate disease biology into therapeutic hypotheses and executable plans.
Experience leading collaborations with CROs, academia and biotech partners.
Strong leadership and cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities

Define nephrology research strategy and portfolio development.
Lead translational research and IND-readiness for programs.
Manage external collaborations with academic labs, CROs, and biotech partners.
Develop translational strategies linking mechanism of action, biomarkers, and patient selection.
Collaborate across teams to plan development and regulatory alignment.
