Job summary

Clearway Energy Group is seeking a Director of Construction to lead end-to-end project delivery, budgeting, and third-party coordination for wind, solar, and energy storage programs in the United States. You will supervise staff, align stakeholders, and ensure on-time, on-budget execution across multiple projects with rigorous governance.

The role demands deep construction experience, proven leadership, and strong communication across internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field.
• 15+ years of progressive construction experience required.
• Ability to handle multiple concurrent efforts and deliver high-quality results on time.
• Experience supervising and/or managing direct reports, including hiring and reviews.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of internal and external customers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel for financial analyses.
• Detail oriented and adaptable to changing requirements.
• Team-oriented, collaborative work style focused on meeting deadlines and goals.
• Demonstrates a can-do attitude aligned with company objectives.

Responsibilities

• Connect with stakeholders to develop timelines and deliverables.
• Identify pinch points early to avoid delays and keep projects on track.
• Coordinate expectations with vendors and internal resources.
• Secure internal resources to maintain schedule adherence.
• Develop project execution plans for third-party construction for approvals.
• Collaborate with Design Team on long-lead materials and alternatives.
• Review plans and specifications and expedite engineering approvals.
• Define scope of work and manage changes and costs across projects.
• Provide weekly and monthly status reports to the Vice President of Construction.
• Prepare correspondence, reports, and presentations as required.
• Maintain accurate project status reports emphasizing cost projections.
• Attend weekly and monthly meetings and conduct pre/post-construction reviews.
• Inspect sites for compliance with specs, budget, and schedule; coordinate repairs.
• Keep stakeholders informed to prevent surprises and delays.
• Maintain construction records and filing in the project documentation system.
• Manage and report construction budgets and monitor third-party performance.
• Collaborate with business leaders and technical experts on budgets.
• Review and approve invoices per Clearway procedures.
• Assist with performance status reporting and tracking change orders.
• Ensure permits, contracts, and insurance are in place before work begins.
