Job summary

New Relic is seeking a strategic, technically fluent Competitive Intelligence Director to own our CI program and sharpen our positioning in observability, monitoring, and AIOps. You will lead end-to-end CI efforts, build knowledge bases, and translate insights into actionable guidance for Sales, Marketing, and Product.

This leadership role requires deep technical depth, a track record of scalable CI programs, and the ability to brief executives and field teams on market dynamics and threats.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in competitive intelligence with observability, monitoring, AIOps, or cloud software.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field; MBA is a plus.
• Strong depth to credibly evaluate observability/AIOps and engage product teams.
• Experience building CI programs and platforms at scale for Sales, Marketing and Product.
• Proven ability to develop battlecards, playbooks, and win/loss programs.
• Fluent written and verbal communication with cross-functional partners.
• Experience deploying AI/agentic workflows for CI/GTM enablement.

Responsibilities

• Lead global competitive intelligence program end-to-end including battlecards and playbooks.
• Develop in-depth coverage of observability, monitoring, and AIOps competitors.
• Oversee win/loss program and translate insights into action for Sales and Product.
• Advise Product/Marketing/Sales on positioning for the observability platform.
• Deliver field briefings and executive-level readouts with measurable CI impact.
• Monitor market moves using intelligence tools and news aggregators.
• Enhance CI tech stack and integrations with CRM and enablement tools.
• Champion competitive readiness across the company and leadership.
