Job summary

Datadog is building a data‑driven Competitive Intelligence function. The Staff Competitive Intelligence Analyst will own the operating system for CompIntel across priority competitors and adjacent markets, translating technical claims and market signals into actionable insights for Product, GTM, Sales Engineering, and leadership.

You will synthesize product evolutions, pricing value, and customer sentiment, and translate findings into roadmap recommendations and decision guidance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in competitive intelligence, technical product strategy, or related enterprise software work.
• Strong technical fluency in observability, cloud infrastructure, security, developer tooling, distributed systems, or enterprise SaaS.
• Ability to read technical docs, changelogs, release notes, architecture diagrams, and public materials.

Responsibilities

• Own the recurring competitive radar for Datadog's priority competitors, including taxonomy and update cadence.
• Produce competitive deep dives, feature-gap analyses, and opportunity assessments tied to product domains.
• Translate findings into roadmap recommendations and product differentiation hypotheses.
• Build and maintain a central CompIntel repository with profiles, notes, and briefs.
• Convert findings into GTM-ready handoffs for battlecards and field enablement.
• Synthesize signals from product, engineering, sales, success, and analyst materials.
• Partner with Product Management to frame competitive questions and connect to roadmap.
• Partner with Technical Advocacy to fold technical signals into analysis.
• Present concise recommendations to Product leadership and GTM forums.
• Maintain source transparency, ethics, and auditable methods in research workflows.
