Job summary

Help at Home in the United States is seeking a Direct Support Professional who will provide one-on-one support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them live safely and with dignity in their homes and communities.

You will follow Individual Support Plans, assist with daily living activities, encourage community participation, and document progress. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is offered for eligible new hires, with paid training and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of a state-approved training program.
• Demonstrated competency and a passing score on the required written competency test.

Responsibilities

• Help individuals build daily living skills and participate in their communities.
• Follow the Individual Support Plan and report updates to the IDD Program Specialist.
• Assist with daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, grooming, and transportation.
• Encourage participation in shopping, social events, appointments, and other community activities.
• Support individuals toward personal goals and greater independence.
• Promote personal choice, self-advocacy, dignity, and respect.
• Document services and progress accurately.
• Communicate with the team to provide consistent, high-quality support.
