Job summary

Help at Home is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide one-to-one assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings. You will help build daily living skills and support independence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a state-approved training program is required.
• Pass required written competency test or demonstrated competency.

Responsibilities

• Reading, understanding, and following each individual’s Individual Support Plan.
• Reporting updates, progress, and concerns to the IDD Program Specialist.
• Assisting with daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, grooming, hygiene, and transportation.
• Encouraging participation in shopping, social events, appointments, and other community activities.
• Supporting individuals toward personal goals and greater independence.
• Promoting personal choice, self-advocacy, dignity, and respect.
• Documenting services, activities, and progress.
• Communicating with team members to provide consistent, high-quality support.
