Job summary

Help at Home is looking for a Direct Support Professional to provide individualized care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them live safely and independently in their homes and communities.

You will support daily living activities, encourage participation in community activities, and document progress while following each person’s individual plan. This role offers training, benefits, and a $1,000 sign-on bonus for eligible new hires in certain locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a state-approved training program.
• Passing score on the required written competency test.
• Ability to pass background checks and in-service training.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with proof of insurance, vehicle registration, and inspection.
• Ability to provide safe, respectful support in homes and communities.
• Compassion, reliability, and a commitment to helping others.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one Direct Support to individuals with IDD in homes and communities.
• Assist with daily living activities such as cooking, grooming, and transportation.
• Document services, progress, and concerns accurately.
• Encourage participation in shopping, appointments, and community activities.
• Follow each individual’s Support Plan and report updates to the supervisor.
