Job summary

Oak Hill is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals for Coventry, CT. This part-time DSP role supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting, focusing on daily living, health, and community inclusion.

You’ll contribute to programs that promote independence, dignity, and meaningful community participation while working a 6:00 AM–10:00 AM weekday schedule, with a base rate of $20.39/hour and differential pay for specific schedules.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license to transport individuals in agency vehicles.
• Ability to complete required background checks, fingerprinting, and pre-employment health screenings.
• Ability to complete required training programs and maintain necessary certifications.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, healthy, and professional work environment in accordance with Oak Hill policies.
• Commitment to continuity of care, including occasional overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in living healthy, meaningful, and fulfilling lives.
• Assist with personal care, grooming, and hygiene.
• Monitor health-related information and assist with medications per plan.
• Transport individuals to appointments and activities using agency vehicles.
• Prepare meals and snacks according to menus and preferences.
• Assist with mobility and transfers using approved techniques and equipment.
• Document daily activities, health information, incidents, and medication administration in the EHR.
