Job summary

Wellspring Lutheran Services - Bethesda Homes, Frankenmuth seeks a Lead Direct Care Professional to mentor staff, coordinate personal care, and support residents’ IPOS goals. You will lead by example, ensure safety and dignity, and promote independence within a compassionate, person-centered care model.

The role emphasizes team leadership, accurate documentation, and community engagement while maintaining high standards of care in an on-site setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field preferred, or a professional license such as CNA - not required.
• Previous experience in direct care, healthcare, or a related support environment preferred.
• Leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• A commitment to person-centered care and maintaining the highest standards of quality and compassion.

Responsibilities

• Leading, mentoring, and supporting Direct Care Professionals to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
• Providing direct support with personal care, medication administration, daily living activities, and community engagement.
• Coordinating appointments, transportation, and activities that encourage participation in the community.
• Helping maintain accurate documentation and ensuring compliance with care plans, medical orders, and regulatory requirements.
• Supporting meal planning and preparation while ensuring individual dietary preferences and needs are respected.
• Participating in the development of Individual Plans of Service and advocating for the needs and goals of residents.
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment.
• Assisting with quality assurance activities, emergency preparedness, medication audits, inventories, and other operational responsibilities that help the home run smoothly.

Schedule

Full-time, Afternoon Shift (3:00pm - 11:00pm) Monday - Friday On-call rotation approx. 1 or 2 weekends per month Overtime may be necessary based on operational and resident needs
