Job summary

Wellspring Lutheran Services in Bethesda, MD is seeking a Direct Support Professional to empower individuals in a residential setting. You’ll provide daily care, assist with routines, and help residents pursue meaningful activities and goals with dignity.

At Bethesda at Wellspring, we're looking for Direct Support Professionals who are passionate about empowering individuals to live with dignity, independence, and choice. As a Direct Support Professional, you'll provide support to individuals in a residential setting, helping them achieve personal goals, participate in meaningful activities, and experience the highest possible quality of life. You'll be an important part of their daily routines, celebrations, challenges, and successes. Most importantly, you'll help people live the lives they choose for themselves.

What Your Impact Will Look Like

You’ll build meaningful relationships with the individuals you support, getting to know their strengths, interests, preferences, and goals. You’ll help people develop independence and confidence by encouraging participation in daily activities and supporting them in ways that honor their abilities and choices. You’ll assist with personal care, meal preparation, medication administration, appointments, and other daily routines while treating each person with dignity and respect. You’ll help create opportunities for meaningful experiences through community outings, activities, hobbies, appointments, and social engagement. You’ll contribute to Individual Support Plans by sharing observations, celebrating achievements, and helping identify opportunities for growth and success. You’ll help create a safe, welcoming, and healthy home environment where individuals feel supported, valued, and connected. Some days you’ll be helping someone learn a new skill, attend a favorite activity, or accomplish a personal goal. Other days you’ll be providing hands‑on support, sharing conversations over meals, accompanying someone to an appointment, or simply being a trusted and encouraging presence. Every day, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.
