Kennesaw State University is seeking a supervisory food service professional to oversee the preparation of meals across dining halls, retail locations and catering events. You will ensure food quality, safety and sanitation while supporting the Sous Chef with station checklists, staff oversight and menu execution.

The role requires a high school diploma, ServSafe certification within 12 months, and at least two years of cooking or baking experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Manager ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Two years of related cooking and/or baking experience required.
• Technical training in commercial food service preferred.
• An undergraduate or advanced degree in a related field is preferred.
• Culinary degree or certificate from a culinary arts program is preferred.
• Previous lead or supervisor experience in a restaurant or institutional operation is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Oversee staff in assigned area and ensure smooth operation.
• Perform general cooking and/or baking duties as needed.
• Lead training in cooking techniques, safety and quality control.
• Assist in testing and implementing new recipes and menu development.
• Ensure food quality complies with regulations and conduct taste tests for QC.
• Oversee bakery and station item preparation from scratch.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization.
