Kennesaw State University is hiring for a food service team member to assist with all aspects of food preparation and quality control. You will read recipes, assemble ingredients, monitor safety standards, and may work front or back of house depending on business needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
• 1 year of experience in food handling in retail/food service/bakery/warehouse/grocery or completion of a qualified culinary program.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and preps fresh produce.
• Preps and properly cooks raw ingredients per recipes and safety guidelines.
• Gathers, weighs, measures, and assembles ingredients for recipes.
• Reads and follows recipes.
• Ensures food quality by tasting.
• Constructs food items per guidelines.
• Sets up workstations with needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
• Determines amount and type of food and supplies required.
• Performs daily temperature checks as needed.
• Maintains production records and operates equipment safely.
• Stores food properly with proper dating and labeling.
• Acts as lead in the absence of the lead role when directed.
