Job summary

Trident Seafoods in Alaska is seeking a kitchen assistant to support the galley and dining operations for employees and crew. You will help with food preparation under the Head Cook, dishwashing, cleaning, and maintaining a safe, efficient kitchen.

The role emphasizes flexibility, learning multiple galley tasks, and adherence to environmental and safety policies. Prior food service experience or a food handler's card is helpful; HS diploma or equivalent preferred.

Qualifications

• Food Handler’s card; required within 30 days of employment.
• Has worked in a Key position at a Trident location for a minimum of 2 years.
• Preferred: HS Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for food preparation under the guidance of Head Cook.
• Must demonstrate the ability to be flexible and to learn the different roles in the galley under the supervision of the Cook (Head Cook).
• Food prep, cleaning, dishwashing, baking, restocking, inventory counts.
• Performs routine deep cleaning of cooking area.
• Washes dishes and cookware, cleans tables and floors, empties trash.
• Maintains a clean working environment.
• Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
• Acquire knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
• Notify designated personnel of any environmental and safety incidents, or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and or Safety training.

Education
