Job summary

Trident Seafoods in Alaska is seeking a kitchen helper to support food preparation and dining services for employees and crew. You will learn various galley roles and perform prep, cleaning, and inventory tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Work includes following environmental and safety policies, training requirements, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen. The position offers growth opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Food Handler’s card; required within 30 days of employment.
• HS Diploma or equivalent (or degree).
• One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Responsible for food preparation under the guidance of Head Cook.
• Must demonstrate the ability to be flexible and to learn the different roles in the galley under the supervision of the Cook (Head Cook).
• Food prep, cleaning, dishwashing, baking, restocking, inventory counts.
• Performs routine deep cleaning of cooking area.
• Washes dishes and cookware, cleans tables and floors, empties trash.
• Maintains a clean working environment.
• Acquire knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
• Notify designated personnel of any environmental and safety incidents, or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and or Safety training.
