Job summary

Bon Secours is seeking a dedicated X-ray Technician to perform digital radiographic studies per provider orders. This role requires ARRT certification, BLS, and strong patient-care abilities within a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

You will document encounters in EMR, select proper exposure factors, and ensure safety for patients and equipment. Travel to other facilities may be required to meet patient care needs.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification/registration required
• State licensure preferred
• BLS from American Heart Association required
• Associate degree in Radiologic Technology (ARRT-accredited) preferred
• 1 year experience in radiation safety and patient care preferred
• EPIC EHR and PACS training preferred
• Medical terminology and office equipment proficiency required
• 1 year of medical assisting experience preferred
• Strong communication and multitasking in a high-volume setting preferred
• Knowledge of growth and development appropriate to patient age groups

Responsibilities

• Safely performs provider ordered radiographic examinations with proper patient positioning and radiation protection
• Sets up immobilization equipment and positions patients safely
• Documents patient encounters in EMR
• Determines proper exposure factors to safeguard patient and equipment
• Maintains skills; may travel to other facilities as needed
• Directs sterile technique to prevent cross-contamination
• Assists with lab tests and specimen handling as needed
• May perform scribing duties or other tasks per supervisor
