Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a skilled X-ray Technician to perform digital X-ray studies under provider orders. The role supports patient care, ensures safety, documents in EMR, and may travel to other facilities to meet patient needs.

Required ARRT certification and BLS; preferred state licensure, EPIC EHR and PACS experience, and an Associate degree in radiologic technology. One year of related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Certification and Registration with ARRT (required)
• State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed)
• BLS (required)
• Associate's from an ARRT accredited institute (preferred)
• 1 year experience in radiation safety and patient care (preferred)
• EPIC EHR (preferred)
• PACS (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Safely performs provider ordered radiographic examinations, including proper patient positioning and radiation protection
• Sets up and adjusts equipment and devices; positions and handles patients safely
• Documents patient encounters within EMR
• Determines and selects proper electronic and technical factors.
• Collect patient specimens and runs point of care lab tests; travel to other facilities as needed
• Directs sterile technique to prevent cross-contamination
• Reports malfunctions or repairs to supervisor
• Other duties include ordering supplies, lab tests, patient registration, scheduling, phone triage, cash handling, check-in/check-out, and scribing as needed
