Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) is seeking a Digital Forensic Analyst to lead preservation and collection of mobile device and cloud-stored data. The role involves travel for on-site collection and an in-office presence in the forensics lab and data center.

The candidate should be fluent with a broad range of forensic tools, take a primary role in a growing team, and contribute to policy development and procedures. A mid-level, full-time position with growth opportunities is offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum undergraduate degree in Digital Forensic Science or CS/Engineering.
• 1+ years of experience with forensic lifecycle, evidence acquisitions, and analysis.
• Experience with industry standard forensic tools (EnCase, Cellebrite, Oxygen).
• Ability to communicate effectively with legal teams and clients.
• Willingness to travel and work on-site and in-office as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform forensic data collection and basic forensic analysis in both on-site and remote capacity
• Coordinate with legal teams and client IT departments to understand project scope
• Maintain and update forensic tools with latest versions
• Work with project management to complete complex, deadline-driven projects
• Assist in developing and refining procedures for discovery processes
• Manage chain of custody per evidentiary rules
• Adhere to standard operating procedures and perform quality checks on output
• Support general IT functions as assigned by the manager
