Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) seeks a Digital Forensic Analyst to lead preservation and collection of mobile device and cloud data. The role requires travel for on-site collections and an in-office presence in the primary CGS office with a forensics lab and data center.

The ideal candidate will have 1+ years of relevant experience, proficiency with common forensic tools, and strong communication skills to support legal teams and clients.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Digital Forensic Science or Computer Science/Engineering.
• 1+ years of relevant experience with forensic lifecycle, evidence acquisitions on a range of devices, and intermediate forensic analysis.
• Experience with industry-standard forensic tools (EnCase, Cellebrite, Oxygen, FTK Imager, MacQuisition, X1 Social Discovery, Logicube Falcon).
• Willingness to travel regularly, possess a valid passport for occasional international travel, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform forensic data collection and basic analysis on-site and remotely.
• Coordinate with legal teams and client IT departments to define project scope.
• Maintain and update forensic toolsets with new versions and options.
• Work with project management and teammates to complete complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Assist in documenting and refining procedures to meet discovery requirements.
• Manage chain of custody according to best practices and SOPs.
• Conduct quality checks on work products before delivering to clients.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager, including general IT tasks.
