Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) is seeking a Digital Forensic Analyst to focus on preservation and collection of mobile and cloud data. The role involves on-site and in-office work, collaboration with legal teams, and maintaining up-to-date forensic toolsets for timely, accurate results.

The ideal candidate holds an undergraduate degree in digital forensics or CS/engineering with 1+ years of experience in forensic lifecycle, acquisitions, and analysis.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an undergraduate degree, preferably in Digital Forensic Science or Computer Science/Engineering.
• 1+ years of relevant experience in forensic lifecycle, scoping, evidence acquisitions, and intermediate analysis.
• Experience with standard forensic tools (EnCase, Cellebrite, Oxygen, FTK Imager, MacQuisition).
• Ability to travel for on-site collection and on-site office work.

Responsibilities

• Perform forensic data collection and basic analysis on-site and remotely when needed.
• Coordinate with legal teams and client IT to define project scope.
• Maintain and update forensic toolsets with latest versions.
• Work with project management to complete complex, deadline-driven projects.
• Document workflows and refine procedures for discovery requirements.
• Ensure chain of custody practices are upheld consistently.
• Perform quality checks before delivering results to clients.
• Take on additional duties as assigned by the manager.
