Job summary

M&T Bank Amherst branch is seeking a customer service–oriented team member to deliver exceptional service in a busy lobby. You will greet customers, perform transactions, and educate on self-service options while ensuring accuracy and policy compliance.

You will balance cash, handle routine maintenance tasks, and participate in AML/BSA/KYC activities, escalation when needed, and logging of customer concerns. This role emphasizes empathy, adaptability, and digital fluency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and minimum 6 months customer service experience.
• Proven verbal communication skills.
• Proven interpersonal skills.

• Proficient with internet-enabled technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service at the branch and resolve routine issues promptly.
• Balance and process transactions accurately per policy.
• Engage customers through lobby management, welcoming and addressing needs.
• Educate customers with digital demonstrations and identify self-service opportunities.
• Escalate and log complaints; own issues until resolution.
• Coordinate branch operational tasks (cash, vault, wires) and maintain records.
• Support AML/BSA/KYC-related activities and adhere to risk controls.
