Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a fully trained shop Mechanic II to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on trailers, focusing on refrigeration power units.

The role includes diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, electrical systems, and complex mechanical components, with on‑call rotation and road calls as needed. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of diesel repair experience, ASE PMI certification or ability to obtain, and a valid Class C license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school in heavy‑duty diesel repairs preferred.
• 2 years' diesel repair experience on tractors/trailers and refrigeration maintenance.
• ASE PMI certification or ability to obtain within 1 year; valid Class C license.

Responsibilities

• Perform all shop duties for a Mechanic II, including preventive maintenance on trailers.
• Repair diesel engines, refrigeration systems, and electrical components.
• Diagnose, repair or replace clutches, pumps, tires, drive lines, trans, brake systems.
• Read service bulletins, document work, and maintain tools; work single or in team.
• Be available for on‑call rotation and road calls using company vehicle.
