Job summary

Penske is hiring a Technician at Fort Worth, TX. You will perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet, using Penske tools and technologies, including basic vehicle diagnostics.

You’ll learn through Penske’s training programs and collaborate with skilled supervisors to grow your career. Qualifying candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, basic mechanical aptitude, 1–2 years of automotive or diesel experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred)
• Valid driver’s license
• The ability to solve problems and comfort using tools
• Excellent customer service skills and communication skills
• The ability to work well as part of a team and outside
• Basic computer skills
• Must understand and comply with Penske policies and procedures
• Safety policies: DOT, OSHA and Penske safety rules must be followed

Responsibilities

• Maintaining vehicles to be safe for customers
• Using Penske tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
• Performing preventative maintenance and repairs (tires, lubrication, electrical, cooling systems) on gas and diesel engines
• Partnering with management to learn new skills via Penske’s technician training
• Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
