Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• Valid driver's license.
• The ability to solve problems and comfort using tools.
• Excellent customer service skills and communication skills.
• The ability to work well as part of a team and outside.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must understand and comply with Penske safety and maintenance policies (DOT/OSHA).
• Regular, predictable attendance is essential.
• DOT Drug Screening and FMCSA requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Make sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Log, research and complete repairs using Penske's tools and technologies, including basic diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance and some electrical, cooling, and component lubrication work on gas and diesel vehicles.
• Learn new skills through Penske technician training and hands-on coaching with management.
• Take on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
