Job summary

Penske is seeking a Technician II in Parsippany, NJ to perform preventive maintenance and major/minor repairs, diagnosing issues, and completing tasks with supervision. You will mentor peers, learn Penske maintenance processes, and work with advanced vehicle tech across OEM equipment.

Qualifications

• Three years of practical experience with vehicle maintenance required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Specialized training and experience in diagnosing/troubleshooting major components (engines, transmissions, differentials); ASE Certification and 608/609 preferred.
• Experience using tools of the trade (diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools).
• Valid driver's license required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills; ability to work well in a team.
• Willing to work in non-climate-controlled conditions; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and ensuring vehicles are safe for customers.
• Performing preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers with minimal supervision.
• Repairing and diagnosing engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, fuel systems, and more.
• Keeping the work area clean and safe.
• Using Penske tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including diagnostics.
• Learning new skills through Penske's technician training.
• Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
