Job summary

Penske is seeking a skilled Technician II in Norfolk, VA to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet. You will diagnose, repair, and test vehicles, while mentoring others and growing your skills through Penske’s training program.

You will work with a variety of OEM equipment, enjoy strong benefits and career growth opportunities, and operate within strict safety and DOT guidelines at a well-equipped facility.

Qualifications

• 3 years of practical experience with vehicle maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Ase Certification and 608/609 certifications preferred.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
• Ability to solve problems and provide excellent customer service.
• Ability to work well in a team and follow safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Perform preventive maintenance on truck and trailer equipment with minimal supervision.
• Repair and troubleshoot engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, and fuel systems.
• Keep work area clean and safe.
• Use Penske tools/tech to log, research and complete repairs, including diagnostics.
• Learn new skills through Penske’s technician training.
• Handle additional projects as assigned by supervisor.
