Job summary

Penske in North Bergen, NJ is seeking an experienced Technician II to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet. You will work independently on major and minor repairs, conduct road tests, and mentor newer technicians while expanding your skills through Penske training.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and a strong focus on customer service. The position offers access to advanced maintenance technology, extensive OEM equipment exposure, and a range of training

Qualifications

3 years of practical experience with vehicle maintenance required.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
Specialized training and experience in diagnosis/troubleshooting major components (engines, transmissions, differentials).
ASE Certification and 608/609 certifications preferred.
Experience using diagnostic equipment, hand tools and power tools.

Responsibilities

Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
Performing preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment with little or no supervision.
Repairing and troubleshooting engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, fuel system components.
Keeping workspace clean and safe.
Using Penske tools to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
Learning Penske’s technician training.
Working on other projects as assigned by supervisor.
