Job summary

Penske in Chester, VA is seeking an experienced Technician II to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet. You will diagnose, repair, test drive, and mentor peers while advancing your skills through Penske training.

Qualifications

• 3 years of practical experience with vehicle maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• ASE Certification and 608/609 certifications preferred.
• Experienced using tools of the trade (diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools).
• Valid driver’s license required.
• The ability to solve problems and provide excellent customer service; able to work well in a team.
• Willing to work in non-climate-controlled conditions.
• Must understand and comply with DOT/OSHA safety and maintenance policies; safety sensitive role.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and ensuring vehicles are safe for customers.
• Performing preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers with minimal supervision.
• Repairing and troubleshooting engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, and fuel systems.
• Keeping the work area clean and safe.
• Using Penske tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including diagnostics.
• Learning new skills through Penske’s technician training.
• Working on other projects as assigned by supervisor.
