Penske is seeking an experienced Technician II in Suffolk, VA to perform preventive maintenance and major/minor repairs on a diverse fleet. You’ll diagnose, repair, and test vehicles, mentoring junior techs and learning advanced Penske systems.

We offer competitive pay at $28.25/hour, shift flexibility, and strong training. A DOT-regulated role with safety and compliance at the core, requiring travel within the district and a valid license.

Qualifications

• 3 years of practical vehicle maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational/technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Specialized training and experience diagnosing major components (engines, transmissions, differentials); ASE Certification, and 608/609 certifications preferred.
• Experienced using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Excellent customer service skills and communication skills.
• The ability to work well as part of a team.
• Willing to work in non-climate-controlled conditions.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must understand and comply with Penske safety and maintenance policies, including DOT/OSHA requirements.
• Regular, predictable attendance is essential.
• DOT driver qualification file requirements, potential drug screening; CDL holders will have DOT drug screening.

Responsabilités

• Maintain vehicles and ensure safety for customers.
• Perform preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers with minimal supervision.
• Repair and troubleshoot engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, and fuel systems.
• Keep the work area clean and safe.
• Use Penske tools to log, research, and complete repairs, including diagnostics.
• Learn new skills through Penske training.
• Take on other projects as assigned by supervisor.
