Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking a Technician II at our Norfolk, VA location. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose issues, and repair engines, transmissions, differentials, and other components with a focus on safety and reliability.

You will mentor peers and grow skills through Penske’s training programs. We value hard work, safety, and customer service as you maintain a diverse fleet with advanced diagnostics and OEM equipment.

Qualifications

• 3 years of practical experience with vehicle maintenance required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
• Specialized training and experience in diagnosis/troubleshooting major components (engines, transmissions, differentials); ASE and 608/609 certifications preferred
• Experienced using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools
• Valid driver’s license required
• Willingness to travel within district and comply with Penske safety policies

Responsibilities

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers
• Performing preventive maintenance on truck and trailer equipment with minimal supervision
• Repairing and troubleshooting engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, fuel systems, etc.
• Keeping work area clean and safe
• Using Penske tools and tech to log, research and complete repairs including diagnostics
• Learning new skills through Penske’s technician training
• Working on other projects as assigned by supervisor
