Penske is seeking a Diesel Technician/Mechanic III - Entry Level in Saint Johns, MI. You’ll perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet, using Penske tools and processes to keep vehicles safe and on the road.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• The ability to solve problems and comfort using tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• The ability to work well as part of a team and outside.
• Must understand and comply with Penske policies; DOT/OSHA safety compliance.
• Willingness to meet schedule, location, background checks, drug screen, and training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining vehicles and ensuring safety for customers.
• Using Penske tools/technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics.
• Performing preventive maintenance and component lubrication/replacement; some electrical and cooling system work.
• Learning new skills via technician training and hands-on coaching with your supervisor.
• Working on additional projects as assigned by supervisor.
