Penske is hiring an entry-level Diesel Technician/Mechanic III at 2201 E Michigan Ave, Superior Township, MI. You will perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet, with hands-on coaching from seasoned technicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• The ability to solve problems and comfort using tools.
• Excellent customer service skills and communication skills.
• The ability to work well as part of a team and outside.
• Basic computer skills.
• DOT/OSHA safety policy adherence required.

Responsibilities

• Make sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Log, research, and complete repairs using Penske tools and technologies, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance repairs (e.g., tire rotation) and lubrication on gas and diesel engines.
• Partner with manager to learn new skills via Penske training and coaching.
• Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
