Job summary

Penske is seeking an entry-level Diesel Technician/Mechanic III to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet. You’ll work with experienced supervisors, learn Penske’s maintenance processes, and gain hands-on training with advanced technology.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, basic mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and growth within the Penske organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• Ability to solve problems and use tools effectively.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and outdoors; basic computer skills.
• Must follow Penske safety policies and pass required screenings.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and ensures vehicle safety for customers.
• Logs, researches and completes repairs using Penske tools and basic diagnostics.
• Performs preventative maintenance and minor repairs on diesel and gas engines.
• Learns new skills through technician training and coaching.
• Works on additional projects as assigned by supervisor.
