Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Shop Diesel Technician II to support maintenance and repair of light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks. You will perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and diagnostics in a shop setting and help with follow-up repairs.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED with 3 years' related experience, DOT compliance, and a valid CDL/driver's license. Travel to customer sites is possible; competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years' related field experience.
• Ability to pass DOT background and DOT physical per FMCSA.
• DOT medical card with more than four months remaining.
• 21+ years old and valid state driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel to customer locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe operating practices and procedures at all times.
• Determine parts and coordinate with Parts Department for each job.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and assist in end-of-day cleanup.
• Apply formal training and experience to diagnose and repair vehicle systems.
• Work with Service Writer to assess customer needs and communicate findings.
• Manage concurrent tasks with prioritization and time management.
• Comply with all safety, health, and environmental policies and DOT/OSHA regulations.
• Perform PM, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on trucks of various weights.
• Occasionally travel to customer locations to perform work when required.
• Document work performed, RO details, and parts used in the company system.
