Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Shop Diesel Technician II to support its nationwide mobile and on-site maintenance services. You will perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light to moderate repairs on light to heavy-duty trucks and trailers.

The role requires following safety procedures, accurate diagnostics, and collaboration with the Service Writer to address customer needs. ASE certifications and FMCSA knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical requirements
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification and other ASE certifications preferred
• Valid driver’s license and 21+ years of age

Responsibilities

• Follow safe operating practices and procedures at all times
• Determine parts needed and coordinate with Parts Department
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and assist in tool/part organization
• Use diagnostic knowledge to perform inspections and light/limited repairs
• Collaborate with Service Writer to assess customer needs and provide estimates
• Manage multiple tasks and prioritize work to meet timelines
• Adhere to company policies and maintain documentation in Repair Orders
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical truck systems
• Perform DOT inspections and routine/preventive maintenance
• Travel to customer locations as required
