Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Shop Diesel Technician II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light to heavy repairs. You’ll diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, work with a Service Writer, and follow safety standards in a busy shop environment.

Role offers ongoing training, potential travel to customer sites, and a clear path for advancement within a leading national fleet maintenance company.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3 years’ related field experience or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain/maintain Driver Qualification File
• Possess a set of hand tools needed to perform required duties
• Participation in company-required training

Responsibilities

• Follow safe operating practices and procedures.
• Determine parts with Shop Parts Department for each job.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and assist in end-of-day cleanup.
• Apply formal training and on-the-job knowledge to perform duties.
• Collaborate with Service Writer to assess customer needs and resolve issues.
• Manage concurrent tasks with prioritization and time allocation.
• Operate within company safety, health, and environmental policies.
• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on trucks.
• Occasionally travel to customer locations for work.
• Record work details and RO documentation using company devices.
