Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Illinois is seeking a diesel truck technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair refuse trucks across a fast-paced fleet.

You will work either 4am-2pm or 8:30am-6pm, with overtime after 40 hours, and support from a safety-conscious maintenance team. Starting pay is $26-$30/hr with opportunities for higher pay based on experience, certifications, and skill level, plus a robust benefits package after probation.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs on Diesel Refuse Trucks.
• Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, and other truck components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep Refuse Trucks operating safely and reliably.
• Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation.

Job description

Starting Pay: $26-$30/hr

More pay available based on experience, certifications and skill level.

Shift: 2 options. Expect 9hr+ working shifts. Overtime over 40hrs.

1) 4am-2pm M-F

2) 830am-6pm M-F
