Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Chester, VA is hiring a truck maintenance technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel refuse trucks. The role focuses on hydraulic and electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTOs, and related components to keep the fleet safe and reliable for daily operations.

Starting pay is $30–$40 per hour with potential pay increases based on experience, certifications, and skill level. The shift is 1:45 PM–12:00 AM, Monday through Friday, with overtime after 40 hours.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining diesel refuse trucks.
• Ability to diagnose and repair electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Commitment to safety and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs on Diesel Refuse Trucks.
• Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, and other truck components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep Refuse Trucks operating safely and reliably.
• Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation.
