Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a skilled diesel technician to work on refuse trucks on-site in Columbia, SC. The role involves diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and conducting preventative maintenance to keep the fleet safe and reliable.

Starting pay is $27–$35 per hour with potential for higher pay based on experience and ASE certifications. Overtime after 40 hours, benefits after 60 days, and daily responsibilities include inspections, troubleshooting, and component repairs.

Qualifications

• Experience with diesel refuse trucks.
• Familiar with Mack, Cummins, and Allison software to diagnose truck issues.
• ASE certifications are a plus; employer pays for testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs on Diesel Refuse Trucks.
• Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, and other truck components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep Refuse Trucks operating safely and reliably.
• Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation.

Job description

Starting Pay: $27-$35/hr.

More pay available based on experience, certifications and skill level.

Starting Shift: 6am-5pm M-F. OT after 40hrs worked!

Needs to have experience with engines, transmission, electrical diagnostics. Be familiar with Mack, Cummins, and Allison software to diagnose the issues with our trucks on site.

We pay for ASE testing! Once you get your certs is .25 bump per T Series ASE.
