Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking skilled diesel truck technicians in Chesapeake, VA to perform inspections, diagnose issues, and repair refuse trucks to keep our fleet safe and reliable. The role offers $28-$55 per hour with a shift, overtime after 40 hours, and a benefits package after 60 days.

ASE certs boost pay; state license bonuses apply. Competitive PTO and boot/tool stipends included. Shift is 3pm-1am M-F with a $2 differential; day-shift Saturdays as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience performing diesel truck inspections and repairs.
• Ability to diagnose and fix mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance schedules.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs on Diesel Refuse Trucks.
• Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, and other truck components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep Refuse Trucks operating safely and reliably.
• Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation.
