Job summary
Republic Services seeks a Maintenance Technician B to perform repair and maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic/electrical systems, HVAC, and drive trains. You’ll work under supervision, support our drivers, and help keep a modern fleet on the road.
Responsibilities include on-site and road service, basic tire work, and ongoing training in new technologies.
Qualifications
- Ability to diagnose multi-system issues with technical expertise.
- Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
- Experience with maintenance on Classes 1-8 trucks or similar equipment.
- ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
- CDL is a plus but not required.
- 3–5 years of experience in a technician position or graduation from automotive school within 3 months.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Responsibilities
- Maintains knowledge and proficiency in vehicle components and systems for preventative and repair maintenance on-site and on-the-road.
- Chassis component repair and maintenance.
- Refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic and electrical systems; and air/hydraulic braking systems.
- Light engine repair and maintenance.
- Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
- Heating and air conditioning.
- Performs line maintenance welding and fabrication.
- Safely provides road service to ensure equipment is returned to operation.
