Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks, focusing on chassis, refuse bodies, control systems, hydraulics, brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension, drive train, and steering. You will support drivers on the road and work with state-of-the-art equipment in a single fleet.

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and consistently demonstrate technical expertise.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Prior experience with maintenance on Classes 1-5 light/medium duty and heavy-duty Class 7-8 trucks, aircraft, or ships.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a working knowledge of vehicle components and systems for preventative and repair maintenance.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance; refuse bodies and braking systems.
• Light engine repair; suspension, drivetrain and steering systems; HVAC.
• Performs welding and fabrication; provides road service when needed.
• Identifies malfunction sources using electronic tools; completes company training programs.
