Job summary

Republic Services seeks a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel fleet vehicles, including chassis, refuse bodies, and hydraulic/electrical systems. You will diagnose issues on-site or on the road, perform preventive maintenance and basic welding, and support drivers in keeping routes running smoothly.

The role emphasizes working with state-of-the-art equipment, ongoing training, and a clear path for career growth while offering competitive wages and benefits.

Qualifications

• Diagnose multi-system issues with technical proficiency.
• Understand work order labor time standards.
• Experience with Class 1-8 trucks or equivalent equipment.
• ASE certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• CDL is a plus but not required.
• 3–5 years in a technician role or recent graduation from automotive college/tech school.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair chassis components, refuse bodies, braking and electrical systems.
• Perform light engine repair, suspension, drive train and steering work.
• Service heating/air conditioning and basic welding/fabrication.
• Provide safe road service to return equipment to operation.
• Identify malfunctions using electronic tools and complete trainings.
• Adhere to company policies and participate in ongoing training.
