Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to diagnose and repair diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulics, and control systems. You’ll perform preventative maintenance, engine work, HVAC, and electrical tasks across a single fleet, supporting drivers on routes with state-of-the-art equipment.

Qualifications

• Diagnose multi-system issues with technical expertise.
• Understand work order labor time standards.
• Experience with or knowledge of maintenance on Classes 1-8 trucks/aircraft/ships.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• CDL is a plus but not required.
• 3-5 years of experience in a technician role or graduation from automotive college within 3 months.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge and proficiency in vehicle components and systems; performs preventative and repair maintenance on-site and on the road.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic and electrical systems; and air and hydraulic braking systems.
• Light engine repair and maintenance.
• Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• Heating and air conditioning.
• Performs line maintenance welding and fabrication.
• Safely provides road service when necessary to ensure equipment is returned to operation.
• Identifies the source of malfunctions using electronic tools.
• Completes applicable Company training programs.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
